This portable solution is just 65 mm (L) x 25 mm (W) x 13.5 mm (H) and is ideal for home office or notebook computer use. Compass modems offer an expandable microSDTM memory slot, laptop clip accessory and TRU-InstallTM – Sierra Wireless’s automatic software installation experience for both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X users. TRU-DurabilityTM, Sierra Wireless’s rugged hardware design, has been built into Compass modems, ensuring our products are quality built and can deal with life on the road. As well, with Receive Diversity on the 800/850, 1900 and 2100 MHz bands, Compass is optimized for better fringe performance on global HSPA networks.
The Compass 885 includes TRU-InstallTM, Sierra Wireless’s plug-and-play software installation experience. A CD is no longer required so you’re up and running in fewer steps and less time. Plus, if you switch to a new laptop or desktop, Compass will automatically begin the installation setup and you won’t need to search for a setup CD.
Compass 885 owners will enjoy top speeds up to 7.2 Mbps downlink and 2.0 Mbps uplink and will have the freedom to roam globally on tri-band HSPA networks (800/850, 1900, and 2100 MHz bands). In areas where HSPA is not available, Compass is backwards compatible to UMTS, EDGE and GSM/ GPRS networks (800/850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz).
